How to use NephroScan

A short walkthrough, from your blood count report to directions for care.

  1. Bring your FBC report

    Any lab or hospital laboratory can run a full blood count. It is one of the cheapest and most common tests in Ghana.

  2. Answer three short screens

    Age, heart history, then eight numbers copied straight off the printout. Each field shows the usual range and the unit.

  3. Read your result

    See your risk level and which values pushed it up or down. Print it for your doctor.

  4. Get care close to home

    Type your town or share your location for directions to a renal centre, hospital or lab.

Ask the lab for

  • Full blood count (FBC) the eight values this check uses
  • Serum creatinine with eGFR how well your kidneys filter
  • Urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio early kidney damage
  • Fasting blood sugar or HbA1c checks for diabetes

Ask for the printed report with the numbers, not only the comment. You need WBC, NEUT, MXD, PLT, MPV, PDW, P-LCC and MCHC.
